Slavery for Black History month.
Slavery.Slavery was a horrible thing back in the 1800s, Black people had NO rights… They couldn’t go and hang out with there friends like we can, they didn’t have there own personal things to call there own. The black people had to do everything there ” owners ” said or they would be treated to a harsh punishment like being whipped, no food for a week or something so some of them tried to escape using something called ” The under ground rail road ” in some stops there was some white people helping the black people try and escape to freedom, But it was very dangerous for white people and black… especially for black people , if they where found by a slave hunter they would be treated to a even worse punishment then being whipped or no food…they would kill them in front of there family and friends to try and convince them not escape. One of the things slaves where most afraid of was being sold and taken away from there family’s … slaves where sold to the white people, how unfair is that!?!?!
Text to self: Nothing this harsh
has ever happened to me before, I can’t believe they would do that to the black people.. They weren’t any different form us.Text to world: Well I believe everyone should remember this horrible tragedy and make sure it never happens again.
Text to text : Well Mme Horrell taught us about the holocaust, where Jewish people didn’t have any rights just like the slaves, and there was a book called ” Hana’s suitcase. ” And it was about her life story as a Jew and how she died in a gas chamber and stuff, well what I am trying to say is that the Jews didn’t have any rights as well as the in-slaved black people
